Dear valued customer,

I want to take this opportunity to personally thank you for your business and support during yet another eventful and challenging year in 2022. With the help of our teams and your collaboration we have managed to successfully navigate some difficult times and to develop our business in positive ways.

Health and safety remained our utmost priority this year as always, as we continued to strive for increased safety awareness and zero incidents. Hanmere is showing a significant reduction in accident frequency rate compared to the previous year and Amerplast’s Poland site Borki-Wyrki recorded 900+ consecutive accident free days.

We finally, fully came out of the Covid restrictions only to face rocketing price inflation and an energy crisis caused primarily from the Russian conflict with Ukraine. The inflationary pressures look set to continue into 2023 and the sales teams will continue to work hard with customers to mitigate where possible the impacts but such is the severity and speed we have been forced to pass on some element of the inflation.

This year also marked a significant milestone in Amerplast history with the business celebrating its 70^th anniversary. Family founded, Amerplast began in Finland in 1952 and has since been on a remarkable journey from its beginnings with Mr Sami Suominen spotting the opportunity on a trip to America to manufacture baby diaper overpants and other plastic products for the Finnish market and consumers, to the present day where we now supply products across the UK and Europe.

We were fortunate to celebrate this milestone with Amerplast Packaging Tampere’s success in the 2022 Flexo–Tech awards winning both its class print entry and the overall Supreme Award. Well done to all the team!
